Can I be a Member if I don’t live in West Virginia?
Yes, however out-of-state members must choose from one of our paid membership tiers.
While we are called the West Virginia Creative Network (WVCN), we welcome creatives from surrounding regions or former West Virginia residents who want to stay connected to the state’s thriving creative economy.
Membership Eligibility
Most of our members are based in West Virginia, but we also welcome:
- Border-state artists
- West Virginia expats
- Artists with personal or professional ties to WV
Out-of-state members must choose from one of our paid membership tiers.
The Free Membership is available exclusively to WV residents.
Out-of-State Membership Options
Create Membership — $9/month (or $93/year)
Includes everything in the Free tier, plus:
- Increased visibility and platform curation
- Hands-on support with grant writing and contracts
- Access to quarterly live workshops
- Coaching and expanded professional resources
Champion Membership — $15/month (or $162/year)
Includes everything in the Free + Create tiers, plus:
- 1:1 consulting and deeper support for mid-to-late career artists
- Advanced tools and opportunities
- Ability to apply as a WVCN Mentor and get paid to support emerging artists

What Happens if I Move Out of West Virginia?
We get it—moving is a big life change. If you have a Free Membership and you move out of state:
- You’ll be offered the opportunity to upgrade to a paid membership tier.
- WVCN offers a 90-day grace period to make this transition—because moving is hard, and we believe in flexibility.
- After 90 days, if you haven’t upgraded, your Free Membership will be deactivated.
You’ll still be welcome to rejoin at any time by selecting one of the available paid tiers.
